Acquarica del Capo repeats the tradition of the living nativity scene every year. It is a very long and rich route inside the historic center of the medieval village.
We meet many figures that recall the ancient professions. From afar the blacksmith beats the iron with the help of the boy, together they keep time of the old traditions and authentic relationships.
A little further on, in a courtyard, you meet a woman who works with rushes. It turns out that Acquarica del Capo is a town that has always worked and shaped this material.
The route continues in the castle where we find a delightful museum dedicated to rushes and a permanent nativity scene made with this plant.
Outside the manor, a cart with baskets and hampers, obviously made of rushes, makes room for a young figure to rest.
In the houses of the historic center, the various episodes of the Gospels are commemorated. A lit fireplace warms the protagonists and visitors, and the smile warms the hearts of those present in a triumph of happiness.
