The Parco dei Paduli extends for almost 6,000 hectares among centuries-old trees, walls, “pajare”, farms, crypts, dolmens and menhirs. Located in the heart of Salento, between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, the territory is crossed by canals, ponds and lakes with a labyrinthine network of paths.
The olive tree is the unifying element of the landscape. In support of this heritage, the Paduli Municipalities (San Cassiano, Supersano, Surano, Nociglia, Botrugno, Scorrano, Sanarica, Giuggianello, Maglie and Muro Leccese) have equipped themselves with a common urban planning program that includes interventions to enhance the agricultural and architectural assets and the recovery of the complex road infrastructure of the Paduli.
