In the town of Guagnano, in the historic center, a living nativity scene takes place that involves and animates the local population. It is accessed through an arch of lights and Christmas decorations that has been renamed, the arch of lovers.
Every year couples pass through the arch and promise each other love and fidelity inspired by the family that was formed in the village of Bethlehem.
There is no shortage of more profane passages animated by rich shops that churn out food in quantity.
The examples of ancient and Mediterranean cuisine are explored, with a special focus on the miracles that Jesus would perform as an adult.
Alongside the Nativity, the volunteers also represent moments of daily life through the trades that have characterised the economy of Guagnano for centuries.
