The majestic, life-size artistic nativity scene is set up in Martano in the premises of the former Marati pasta factory, an example of industrial architecture from the early 1900s.
Inside, the ancient artisan workshops have been reconstructed, the blacksmith, the glassmaker, the carpenter, with the characters busy carrying out their daily activities.
The nativity scene, with the artistic direction of the set designer Gianfranco Protopapa, consists of over 120 life-size characters made of wax and scenographic materials. The puppets are dressed in the costumes used by the real figures who on Holy Wednesday bring to life the living Via Crucis.
