The Serre Salentine are slight hills in the lower Salento. They represent 38.9% of the province of Lecce. They are also called Murge Salentine, although they are not connected to the sub-region of the Murge. The highest point is the Serra dei Cianci, with its 196 meters. The hills on the Adriatic side descend directly to the sea and form the coast that goes from Otranto to Leuca, while the Serre on the Ionian side start from Supersano and arrive at Capo di Leuca, and are characterized by numerous agricultural terraces.
